Simon Cowell's Choice Words for Charlie Sheen

Simon Cowell is bringing his new talent competition show "The X Factor" to FOX this fall, and the always-opinionated former "American Idol" judge has a few choice words of advice for Charlie Sheen. "The world is a messy place right now," says Simon. "I would say stop feeling sorry for yourself. I genuinely would. There's a lot of people worse off than you are -- and you sort it out yourself." "The X Factor" is based on the British television show by the same name that features individuals as well as groups in a singing competition with no age limit. Auditions for "The X Factor" begin March 27 in Los Angeles, and Simon tells our own Chris Jacobs, "What we've done is we've just taken the rules off. We basically said, we've dropped the age limit to 12, the lower age limit, we've taken the upper age limit off, because of people like Susan Boyle. Any age now should be allowed to enter these shows." Simon also says that groups can compete on the show, and credits "Glee" for changing the way people perceive singing categories. "'Glee' has proven that groups can sell as many records as solo artists," he says. "I like the idea that you've got different categories competing with each other." "The X Factor" contestants will compete for a $5 million Syco/Sony Music record deal.[Read full story on The Insider]

For those wondering about Britney Spears' seeming lack of visibility as the release of Femme Fatale approaches, it seems that the singer is ready to step up her promotion game for the album. News has broken that the pop star has done several new photo sessions as she gears up for Femme Fatale's March 29 debut.

First off, a new promo shot for the album has hit the Web. In the pic, Spears, with her hair tousled in all its bed-head glory, sits seductively on a love seat wearing a long sweater, peep-toe platforms and nothing else. The copy on the poster reads, "Britney Spears, Femme Fatale, featuring the world wide smash hit single, 'Hold It Against Me.' "

E! News reports that Spears is also set to appear in the in the "Star Power" issue of the edgy fashion magazine V. She graces the cover in three sexy shots: one showing her holding a kitten and smiling, another of her topless and baring her back, and a third in which she sits in a man-tailored top and bra. Britney dons designers like Ralph Lauren and Dolce & Gabbana for the fashion spread.

The magazine, which hits newsstands on Thursday, also features an interview with the star. In the article, Spears says she listens to the Black Eyed Peas and one-time pop rival Christina Aguilera's "Woohoo." She also reveals that she likes being at home and cooking for her two sons. She gets candid about the ups and downs of the past few years, noting that it all taught her to be true to herself.

Meanwhile, Spears is set to appear on "Good Morning America" on the day of Femme Fatale's release for a special performance in San Francisco. "I'll be performing for the first time ever in a special concert in San Francisco's historic Castro district on 'Good Morning America.' And I promise you it'll be a morning to remember," she said when the performance was announced.

Last month, the singer shared with fans that she had big plans for the promotion of the album. "I'm doing a lot of promo," Spears said in a Twitter chat. "I'm thinking about the tour right now and I would [love] to visit a lot of places I didn't get to go to on my last tour."
